Here’s a useful tip if you like keeping notes, journals or logs in Notepad..
To automatically get Notepad to add a date/timestamp to your notes each time you open your saved file, just do the following;
- Open notepad.exe
- On the first line type in “.LOG” (excluding the quote marks)
- Tap <Enter> to move to a new line.
- Save the TXT document to your chosen location
- Close Notepad
- Open your saved TXT file – you’ll see a timestamp has appeared.
Now each time you reopen your TXT file, a fresh timestamp will have appeared, helping you to keep track of your notes.
